Recruitment and retention of staff are among her priorities in her new role.
She joined the DHB earlier this year after working as a senior lecturer at Massey University’s school of nursing, where she was involved in the development of a masters of clinical practice programme. Before working at Massey, she was an associate director of nursing at Whanganui DHB. She trained in Whangarei, her home town.
Sheard served in the army for more than 20 years and held a range of clinical and leadership appointments.
