The Ministry of Health (MOH) initiative runs for three, two-day sessions from June to November, with applications closing March 4. There will be programmes run in Christchurch and Wellington.
The MOH would cover programme costs for successful applicants, who would however need to pay for their own accommodation, travel and food.
The MOH said the programme was “firmly grounded” in the realities of public health in New Zealand.
Participants could expect to boost their ability to inspire others, improve their strategic thinking and political savvy, lead change and create a shared purpose in their teams.
“The Public Health Leadership Programme . . . is for leaders wanting to inspire, refresh and create a powerful foundation for their leadership development,” the MOH said.
The programme is for people working in the health sector, such as nurses. Applications can be made at health.govt.nz/phlp.
