You’ve got my commitment– Winston Peters promises health and safety amendment will be ‘dead on arrival’

It was a tough crowd.  A testy New Zealand First leader Winston Peters faced down shouts of ‘kill the bill’ outside Parliament on Wednesday from about 150 workers and unions rallying to keep current protections in the face of ACT Party amendments. But he would only commit to repealing it, if re-elected in November, before accepting the ‘Not One More’ petition against the bill from the families of men who died in the Pike River mine disaster 16 years ago, Sonya Rockhouse and Anna Osborne.
